This project is a gift for my Neice. She picked out the fabrics last Christmas as her Christmas present. I know I know.. I should have finished it for her birthday earlier in the year..but other things sometimes get in the way.. SO my second goal was to get it finished for Christmas this year.. hahaha. Not a Bad deal. 😉 It’s finished… and I LOVE IT… and I know she will too. She has already seen the top, but not quilted….There’s a post on my blog somewhere in the past about teaching her how to make a pillow case, that turned into an emergency room visit… Since we are all a little superstitious…haha..I never finished that pillowcase, but made her three basic ones out the the left over fabs.. one flannel and two regular.
|The Flannel on top is the same as the backing that I used for the quilt with Warm & Natural in the middle for batting 🙂
OH SO WARM!!!
|I alternated the binding with fabs used in the quilt 🙂|
|I did a Giant Meandering stitch to quilt.|
This is my FIRST dark background quilt, an adventure for me… I was a little nervous as she picked out the fabrics (I helped coordinate a few), but I think it turned out AWESOME and perfect for a teenager! I may have to make a few more with dark backgrounds. *giggle*
|Finished size is 63 x 79|
The pattern is called “The Big EZ”, by Bloom Creek. It’s one of my favorites for showcasing big prints. Here is another finish I did earlier in the year, plus I did this pattern as my Chirstmas quilt last year. You can see a picture Here. Told ya I liked this one. *wink*
Have a Great Friday and a Wonderful Weekend. Make sure you check out all the other finishes….Thank you again to Crazy Mom Quilts for having a great place for us to Link Up!!
Till Next Time
