And here’s a little bit of weekend news…
I am not sure how many of you know this, but I am working on becoming a High Voltage Substation Journeyman. And in less than TWO WEEKS…(on Jan 25,2012) I will be taking my Journeyman’s TEST, it will hopefully be my LAST TEST!!! It’s been a very long 4 ½ years. With that said…You can imagine my stress level.…sleep pretty much non-existent…I wake up about every two hours in panic mode ..thinking about what will be on the test. My poor husband can’t wait for it to be over and I go back to normal..hahaha I am sure I will be fine, but I never take tests well.. I can remember breaking out in hives over a geography test in elementary school…and the DMV test at 18 was a nightmare..…I still have flashbacks about the dang buzzer going off for every wrong answer during that test….
I have to say if it wasn’t for me taking a break and concentrating on my Quilting and quilting blog…I would probably not be able to unwind at all even for the weekends… I did manage to relax a little this weekend. I had enough distractions that just now as I am typing to you guys, have I started to rethink about my test… J
A few things I did this weekend to distract myself…I bowled this weekend with 3 great ladies in our City Bowling tournament… I did okay, but probably not going to win anything this year. It was great just to hang out with the gals.
I hung out with my Sister for a bit while we finalized all the details for our Wonky Virtual Quilting Bee. She’s so excited to send out her packets. I get to wait until December for my month, and that’s okay, this way I get to see everyone’s blocks first… and I get to make a bunch of new friends to sew online with.
Today after I got home from bowling, I hit my sewing machine for a bit… I didn’t quilt, but I did sew. A while ago when I rearranged my sewing room, I made a makeshift pillow for my cat, after finding him sitting on a piece of fabric like this…
…the makeshift pillow would be so he could still see out the window, We had some old split foam and I used it …it really was kinda tacky looking.. L but worked for the time being….
Well Today.. He got SPOILED…. – The Things we do for our Furry kids
It wouldn’t have been pretty if I hadn’t been there to save him. Poor guy….SO today….I took care of it. He got a NEW Bed, and Body pillow to go with it. Hopefully the body pillow will keep him from rolling off 😉 I have it attached on the bottom to the bed. Hahahaha. Arnold is my Oldest cat…I’ve had him for almost 12 years now.. He is a hoot. You’ll find him in lots of my sewing pictures. He sneaks into my quilts while I am working on them, and can’t resist sitting at the window with me when I sew. The other day while I was giving him love while standing at my cutting table he nearly rolled off the sewing table and got stuck.. between the two tables..
I think he loves it 😉 He can still sit at the window and I don’t have to worry about him rolling into a jam.
Well relaxation time is coming to an end… back to all that excitement…I am signing off to go and study now… Work is back on the brain…. and a test is just around the corner. Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog.
