Madame Samm is the administrator of the blog (Sew We Quilt) she finds all kinds of wonderful instructors to share information with us. When I happened across the blog, I landed there perfectly on the first day of a Block Party. She had a different block tutorials for each day with a different instructor teaching it. I thought what a wonderful idea for a sampler quilt. We see Sampler books all the time..I know I have spent my share of money them…and I love each one. But I thought if I don’t know what I am going to be making..WOW this could turn out pretty neat. I found myself thoroughly enjoying myself while making this quilt.. The anticipation each day, to see what new block, was so much fun! I learned several new techniques, and I look forward to using them in the future. You can follow all my individual Block Party posts here.
Linking up to TGIFF… Make sure you click here to see all the other great finishes!! 🙂
Been fighting a cold the past couple days, so I didn’t get much done during the week. It was nice to do a bit of sewing to feel back to normal. I didn’t start any new projects, but I did manage to put some left over blocks from a previous project together..I think it will be an adorable baby quilt. I am going to use it as another practice piece for my freemotion quilting…and then find a good home for it. I want to use a flannel for the backing and add a small border to it. So a trip to the store will be necessary today 🙂

|The Flannel on top is the same as the backing that I used for the quilt with Warm & Natural in the middle for batting 🙂
OH SO WARM!!!
|I alternated the binding with fabs used in the quilt 🙂|

I am excited.. I have finished the top and the backing to my Sampler quilt that I made from the Sew We Quilt November Block Party this year. I got together with my Sis in Law this Sunday morning at 7am. Yes 7AM.. Haha.. We both shared a couple of our recent projects and worked ever so diligently on the ones we wanted to get done. She got a quilt for one of our nieces ready for quilting.. It’s gorgeous.. I will try and get a picture to share (after Christmas of course). I finished quilting and binding a quilt for a different niece (pix to come later I will share before Christmas though 🙂 (Gotta love Christmas project finishes) Just have to get a good day for pictures to be taken.
Till Next Time :~)
I have done many many different things as I have aged *wink*. I have done Cross Stitching off and on for over 30 years… Yes, I started cross stitching when I was 10 years old! I swear. 🙂 My Mom still has the Rose I did for her in her guest bathroom.. I saw it last time I was home and smiled a knowing smile.
Well… My FNSI was good, but I determined to finish it last night and hustled as fast as I could. I ended up having to take out and adjust more than I ever thought I would for such a cute project. That’s what I get though for trying to get a project completed all in one night..I think next time… I’ll just work on piecing.. 🙂 It has turned out SUPER cute though.. I was going to put it on the table as a centerpiece, but have decided I want it on my sewing wall instead. To cute for Christmas. 😉
Here it is…my second 9 patch mini wall quilt. This one is made with 3 inch squares instead of 2.5 inch like the other one I made this week. And I added 4 sashing corner stones, because I really love the red. I also did a small meandering stitch along the sashing and border and I crazy square quilted the center of each 9 patch which is different than the straight quilting in the first one. I like how it makes the 9 patches stand out a bit more 😉
I am still learning how to adjust the tension a bit for the invisible thread…(I used that on the 9 patches…figured less color changes) I hope you all had a great Friday Night Sew In as well. Mine was good, but I did make it a little more stressful than I needed to. Next time will be different 😉 You can also see these pictures at my new Flickr Acct 😉 Look me up. I’m Jeepgirl300 on Flickr.
I also linked this to Cat Patches, I have been occupying my sewing room religiously for the past two weeks 🙂 I can’t wait to share some more pictures with you all very very soon 🙂
Take Care and Happy Sewing..
Till Next Time :~)
